Hello, I’m Kathrin Wessel, freelancing illustrator from northern Germany who loves to create vibrant and bold illustrations mostly featuring some kind of animal.  

Living literally in the woods north of Hamburg, I get daily inspiration from nature, and everything that lives is my favorite subject matter.

My work is suitable for children’s books, games, kids‘ products and packaging as well as surface pattern design. So far, I illustrated 30+ board books published by different German publishers and designed 13 fabric collections for a big manufacturer. Apart from that I developed many products for my own little label „käselotti“, you can find the link to my webshop on the top right of this page.

I gained some additional skills in paper engineering, hand lettering and layout as well, so I can help you with more complex and conceptual three-dimensional projects in a one-stop service.
